Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu offered special prayers at the renowned Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi on Thursday to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, BJP state president and Union Minister of State Pankaj Chaudhary also participated in the special prayers.

Chandrababu described celebrating Modi’s birthday at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple as a historic occasion, highlighting the significance of marking the day at the revered shrine. He said Modi had given India greater recognition on the global stage and expressed confidence that the country would emerge as a fully developed nation over the next 25 years.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister also said the Prime Minister’s leadership had played an important role in strengthening India’s position globally. His remarks came during the special religious observances held at the temple as part of the birthday programmes.

Rajnath Singh said prayers were offered to Lord Vishwanath for Modi’s long life and good health, as well as for the successful realisation of the Viksit Bharat vision. He said traditional rituals, including Rudrabhishekam, were performed at the temple as part of the special prayers.

Yogi Adityanath said India was moving towards becoming a self-reliant, secure and developed nation under Modi’s leadership. He said prayers were offered for the Prime Minister’s leadership to continue for many years and for India to become the world’s leading economy.

The programme also featured the felicitation of sanitation workers serving at Kashi Vishwanath Dham. The workers were honoured for their contribution to maintaining the temple premises and providing essential services.

Following the temple programme, laddus were distributed as prasad to bikers undertaking a Varanasi-to-Vadnagar ride to highlight Modi’s 25 years of public service.

Modi was born in 1950 in Vadnagar, in Gujarat’s Mehsana district, to Heeraben and Damodardas Modi. The BJP is observing his birthday through the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, a nationwide programme being conducted from September 17 to October 17, with various public-service and outreach activities.
