CM Chandrababu congratulates Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on swearing-in

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday extended his congratulations to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the formation of his new government.

Chandrababu, along with his son and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, attended the swearing-in ceremony held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Several prominent leaders from across the country were also present, including Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, BJP senior leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, and several leaders from the BJP and JD(U).

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Chandrababu wrote, "It was a pleasure to attend the swearing-in of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and convey my best wishes to him and his new council of ministers." He added, "My best wishes to the NDA leadership in Bihar for a successful, people-centered administration."

Nitish Kumar, the JD(U) leader, has been sworn in as Bihar Chief Minister for a record 10th term. Alongside him, 26 ministers took oath, including 14 from the BJP, 8 from JD(U), 2 from LJP RV (Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas), 1 from HAM (Hindustani Awam Morcha), and 1 from RLM (Rashtriya Lok Manch). Governor Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oaths to the ministers.

The ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. Nadda, other senior NDA leaders, and chief ministers from NDA-ruled states.

At 71, Nitish Kumar is among the longest-serving chief ministers in India, having held office for 19 years. In the recent elections, the NDA returned to power in Bihar, winning 202 out of 243 assembly seats - BJP secured 89, JD(U) 85, LJP (RV) 19, HAM 5, and RLM 4.
