CM Chandrababu Announces Rail, Road and Irrigation Plans for Kuppam

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said there was no scope for question paper leaks or corruption under the TDP government and asserted that the DSC-2025 teacher recruitment process was conducted without irregularities. He accused the YSRCP of unnecessarily politicising the recruitment process and creating controversy over the appointments.

Addressing a public meeting in Kuppam on Monday, Chandrababu said candidates selected through DSC-2025 secured their jobs through their merit and hard work. He maintained that neither the recruitment notification nor the examination process was compromised and categorically rejected allegations of a question paper leak.

The Chief Minister said teachers selected through the recruitment process had organised protests in Kurnool, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam against allegations surrounding the DSC examination. He said the government was prepared to present evidence on the issue if YSRCP MLAs attended the Assembly sessions.

Chandrababu also criticised the previous YSRCP government, alleging that the State had witnessed “destructive governance” between 2019 and 2024. He repeated allegations regarding adulteration of Tirumala Laddu prasadam during the previous regime and criticised the then government for its approach towards Amaravati. He also appealed to voters to defeat the YSRCP in the forthcoming local body elections.

Chandrababu said the government was preparing a comprehensive plan to transform Kuppam into a model constituency. He said water had been brought through the Handri-Neeva canal, helping fill 133 tanks in the region.

Plans are also being prepared for reservoirs at Yamiganipalli and Manapalli, while around 550 minor irrigation tanks would be linked through lift irrigation schemes and pipelines. Citing low reservoir levels and drought conditions attributed to El Niño, the Chief Minister urged people to use available water carefully.

During his visit, Chandrababu laid foundation stones for RDO and ASP offices costing ₹10 crore and inaugurated a ₹3.3-crore waste treatment plant and material recovery centre. He also launched ₹38 crore worth of municipal development works and 15 MW PM-KUSUM projects for the agriculture sector.

He said steps had been taken to provide a halt for the Dadar-Puducherry train at Kuppam and announced plans to improve highway connectivity with Bengaluru and Chennai.

Chandrababu said he had sought a broad-gauge railway line between Kuppam and Chittoor, with a proposed extension to Krishnapatnam Port. He also announced plans for an airport and said the government aimed to eliminate poverty and transform Kuppam into ‘Swarna Kuppam’.
