Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was discharged from Fortis Hospital, Mohali , on Thursday morning after undergoing treatment and observation for exhaustion, officials said. The 52-year-old leader had been admitted on February 15 after experiencing fatigue and discomfort, prompting doctors to conduct a comprehensive medical evaluation.

A medical bulletin issued by the hospital earlier in the week stated that Mann’s vital parameters were stable and within normal limits. He remained under observation and received supportive care from a multidisciplinary team. Doctors indicated that his condition was stable and attributed his symptoms largely to exhaustion and overexertion.

Mann briefly left the hospital on February 16 to attend a public event in Moga under the Punjab government’s anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh.” The initiative is a key component of the state’s efforts to combat drug abuse through enforcement, community participation, and awareness programmes. However, after addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister returned to the hospital the same day after experiencing fatigue again.

During his hospital stay, senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia visited Mann to inquire about his health. Speaking to reporters afterward, Sisodia said the Chief minister was recovering well and in good spirits, reassuring party workers and supporters.

Mann’s discharge comes at a time when the Punjab government is intensifying its anti-drug drive, an issue widely viewed as critical to the state’s public health and social stability. His presence at the Moga rally underscored the political significance of the campaign and the administration’s focus on grassroots mobilisation.

The Chief Minister has faced health concerns in the past, with previous hospitalisations linked to infection and fatigue attributed to his demanding schedule and extensive public engagements. Observers note that his workload includes governance responsibilities, policy implementation, and statewide outreach initiatives.

With his condition now stable and recovery underway, the administration is expected to continue its outreach efforts while ensuring that the Chief Minister balances official duties with adequate rest and medical advice.
