Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has directed officials to immediately clear all pending agricultural electricity connections and ensure uninterrupted power supply across the state during the intense summer season.

During a review meeting held through a teleconference with heads of power distribution companies, the minister assessed the state’s electricity supply situation, pending farm connections, and implementation of major renewable energy schemes launched by the Central and State governments.

With power demand rising sharply due to soaring temperatures, Ravi Kumar instructed authorities to take preventive measures to avoid outages affecting domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers. He also ordered officials to provide timely information to the public whenever technical disruptions occur and ensure repair works are completed on a priority basis.

The minister warned that excessive heat could lead to transformer failures and asked field staff to remain alert round-the-clock to tackle emergencies efficiently.

Reviewing progress under key schemes such as PM Surya Ghar, PM-KUSUM, and the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme, Ravi Kumar stressed the need to achieve all targets within stipulated timelines.

He specifically instructed officials to provide six lakh electricity connections to SC beneficiaries under the Surya Ghar scheme by July. The minister also called for faster expansion of solar connections across all sections to strengthen the state’s clean energy and sustainability goals.
