CJI Surya Kant To Visit Sikkim On May 1–2 For Judicial Conference

CJI Surya Kant is scheduled to visit Sikkim on May 1 and 2 to attend a national-level conference on judicial reforms and technology, according to an official statement released on Monday.

During his visit, the Chief Justice will participate in the National Conference on Technology and Judicial Education , to be held in Gangtok. The conference is being organised by the High Court of Sikkim and will see the participation of judges from the Supreme Court of India as well as several high courts across the country.

The conference aims to deliberate on the integration of technology in the judicial system, including improvements in case management, virtual hearings, and digital access to courts. It will also focus on strengthening judicial education and training to help judges adapt to evolving legal and technological challenges.

In preparation for the high-profile visit, a coordination meeting was held at the state secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary R Telang. The meeting reviewed arrangements related to protocol, security, transportation, accommodation, and venue readiness.

Officials stressed the importance of seamless coordination among various departments to ensure the smooth conduct of the visit, given the stature of the dignitaries expected to attend the event.
