Civil Services Dream Made Affordable: 200 Seats for Free 3-Year Training

The state government has launched an ambitious three-year fully residential coaching programme to prepare talented youth for competitive civil services examinations. The brochure for the scheme was released at the Secretariat by Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav and Information Minister Parthasaradhi.

Under the programme, 200 aspirants will receive free coaching, accommodation and meals , an estimated benefit worth about ₹10 lakh per candidate over three years. The scheme is being implemented through Chalasani Balarama Prasad (CBR) Academy in collaboration with an IAS Study Circle.

The intake is gender balanced , with 100 seats for girls and 100 seats for boys . Training centres have been set up in Vijayawada for female candidates and Vinukonda for male candidates . Selection will be through written tests followed by interviews , with the girls’ exam scheduled for March 15 and the boys’ exam on April 5 .

Although the brochure details the gender-wise allocation and training support, it does not explicitly mention category-wise reservations (such as SC, ST, BC or EWS quotas), leaving it unclear whether standard state reservation norms will be applied.

Organisers stress that the programme is designed to help candidates prepare for major examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission and the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, including IAS, IPS and Group-I and Group-II posts , though it does not automatically guarantee coaching for all UPSC/APPSC streams.

Officials say the scheme aims to broaden access to quality preparation, especially for students who might otherwise lack financial means. Clarification on economic criteria and category reservations is expected to be provided in the full programme guidelines.
