CISF seizes electronics worth ₹1.4 cr at Hyderabad airport
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has seized electronic goods valued at around ₹1.4 crore, including high-end smartphones, laptops, accessories, and prohibited drones, from passengers attempting to smuggle them at Hyderabad International Airport.
According to a CISF statement, on November 11, officers noticed two passengers acting suspiciously at the airport after arriving from Abu Dhabi. The travelers’ luggage was screened at the domestic arrivals exit gate, revealing a large quantity of electronic items.
When asked to provide purchase receipts or import permits, the passengers failed to present any valid documentation. Consequently, both individuals and the seized goods were handed over to customs authorities for legal action.
The CISF shared details of the incident on its official social media platform, ‘X’, emphasizing the heightened vigilance of airport security forces against smuggling activities.
