After a wait of two years and seven months, Ram Charan and filmmaker Sukumar have finally kick-started their much-awaited second collaboration, tentatively titled 'RC17'. The upcoming pan-India film was officially launched with a grand pooja ceremony at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad on Sunday (November 1), with Megastar Chiranjeevi giving the ceremonial first clap.

The ceremony witnessed several prominent personalities from the Telugu film industry, including Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Sukumar and his wife Thabitha, Ravi Shankar, Naveen Yerneni, Naga Vamsi, Rahul Sankrityan, Gopichand Malineni, Maruthi, Buchi Babu Sana, Vamsi Nandipati and Harish Shankar, among others. Chiranjeevi performed the coconut-breaking ritual before sounding the clapboard and blessing the team.

The production house shared a video from the launch, writing, "The journey of #RC17 begins with the MEGA CLAP Megastar @KChiruTweets garu sounded the clapboard and blessed the entire team of #RC17." The makers had announced the auspicious ceremony for 10.50 am through a special poster on Saturday, accompanied by the hashtags #YouCanImagine and #RC2Sukku.

On the technical front, Ratnavelu will handle the cinematography, while Anirudh Ravichander has been confirmed as the music composer. His association marks a notable change for Sukumar, who previously collaborated with Devi Sri Prasad on 'Rangasthalam' and whose name also featured in the original RC17 announcement in 2024.

The film is backed by Mythri Movie Makers, in association with Sukumar Writings and T-Series Films. Reports suggest that regular shooting is expected to begin in early 2027, while Ram Charan is reportedly preparing for a different look for his character.

The project marks the reunion of the actor-director duo after their 2018 blockbuster 'Rangasthalam', which also starred Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Jagapathi Babu. Their previous collaboration became a major commercial success and remains one of Ram Charan's most acclaimed performances.

While expectations are naturally high, the makers are yet to reveal the official title, female lead, storyline and remaining cast members. Fans are now eagerly waiting for the shooting schedule and first-look announcement.
