Chiranjeevi Enters Theatre Business With Ambitious Plan For World’s Largest Cinema Screen In Hyd

Megastar Chiranjeevi is set to make a major move beyond acting, with the Telugu superstar joining hands with Asian Cinemas for an ambitious theatre project in Hyderabad that could feature one of the world’s largest cinema screens.

Asian Cinemas, a prominent film exhibition company in Telangana with theatre ventures associated with several leading Telugu stars, is partnering with Chiranjeevi for the proposed project. The premium cinema is planned in Hyderabad’s Financial District, one of the city’s fastest-growing commercial and entertainment hubs.

The project is being positioned as a large-scale movie-watching destination rather than a conventional multiplex. The proposed screen is expected to be built on a massive scale, with the ambition of matching or surpassing some of the largest operating cinema screens in the world.

The venture could reportedly be branded as Asian Chiranjeevi Cinemas (ACC) or Asian Megastar Cinemas (AMC), although the final name has not yet been announced.

At present, the Guinness World Record for the largest operating cinema screen is held by Traumpalast Leonberg in Germany. Its screen measures about 127 feet wide and 69 feet high, covering roughly 8,770 square feet. The auditorium has 574 recliner seats and uses IMAX dual-laser projection technology.

Another major-format screen is located at Royal Cinemas 14 IMAX Dual Laser in Pooler, Georgia, in the United States. Its screen is about 101 feet wide and 76.2 feet high, covering nearly 7,696 square feet and accommodating 363 recliner seats.

The Hyderabad project has drawn attention because of its proposed scale. If its final screen dimensions meet or exceed those of the existing record-holder, it could give the city a significant new landmark in the global cinema exhibition space.

For Chiranjeevi, the project also marks an expansion of his association with the film industry beyond the screen. For Asian Cinemas, it represents another high-profile collaboration aimed at creating a premium theatrical experience.
