China Confirms On-Site Technical Support To Pakistan During Four-Day Conflict With India
China has, for the first time, confirmed that it provided on-site technical support to Pakistan during a four-day conflict with India last year, according to Chinese state media reports.
The disclosure came through state broadcaster CCTV , which aired an interview with Zhang Heng, an engineer from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), based at the Chengdu Aircraft Design and Research Institute, a major developer of fighter aircraft and unmanned systems.
Reports, including the South China Morning Post, said Chinese personnel were deployed to assist Pakistan’s air operations involving J-10CE fighter jets , operated by the Pakistan Air Force. Additional defence assessments also suggest Chinese support extended beyond maintenance to radar coordination, satellite assistance, and air defence integration during the conflict.
Zhang described the deployment environment, citing air-raid sirens, intense operational tempo, and extreme heat reaching nearly 50°C , while working at forward support locations. He said the team was driven by the goal of strengthening on-site operational readiness and combat performance of equipment under real battlefield conditions.
He added that close cooperation reflected a strong defence-industrial partnership between China and Pakistan, developed through sustained collaboration between engineers and military operators.
The disclosure marks one of the clearest public acknowledgments of direct Chinese technical involvement in a partner nation’s wartime operations, highlighting the deepening strategic and military alignment between Beijing and Islamabad amid heightened regional tensions.
