Chief of Defence Staff Inspires Young Cadets at NCC Republic Day Camp 2026

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan visited the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp (RDC) at Delhi Cantt on January 13, 2026, urging cadets to embrace leadership, patriotism, and discipline in their journey to shape India’s future.

Addressing cadets and officers, General Chauhan expressed pride in attending the RDC for the fourth consecutive year. He commended the cadets’ high standards, energy, and patriotic spirit , noting that each year brings renewed enthusiasm and commitment to service.

Emphasizing the importance of vision, will, and making the right choices , he told cadets, “If you take the right path, you reach the right destination; it’s important to choose the right path today.”

He encouraged young cadets to consider a career in the armed forces and contribute to building a “Samridhh, Sashakt, Surakshit Bharat by 2047” , calling them “the future leaders of Viksit Bharat.”

Highlighting the significance of January, the CDS drew attention to key national events celebrated during the month , including National Youth Day (12 Jan) honoring Swami Vivekananda , Veteran’s Day (14 Jan) , Army Day (15 Jan) , Parakram Diwas (23 Jan) commemorating Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose , Republic Day (26 Jan) marking the adoption of the Constitution , and Martyr’s Day (30 Jan) . He stressed that these occasions not only celebrate India’s independence and republican values but also inspire youth to uphold the true spirit of nationalism and civic responsibility .

General Chauhan praised the Guard of Honour by Army, Navy, and Air Wing cadets and the band performance by Sainik School Ghorakhal cadets , describing them as a reflection of the cadets’ discipline and talent. He also appreciated the vibrant cultural shows, social awareness initiatives through ‘Flag Area’, and technological demonstrations including Aero and Naval model briefings and drone displays , highlighting the cadets’ skill, teamwork, and innovative abilities .

Speaking on leadership and personal development, he urged cadets to act without delay, remain positive, and pursue their goals with determination , reinforcing that the camp experience equips them with the discipline, physical fitness, technical skills, and social awareness needed for careers in the armed forces and leadership roles in society.

The NCC Republic Day Camp, an annual national-level gathering, provides cadets from across India with opportunities to hone military and leadership skills, engage in cultural and social activities, and participate in the Republic Day Parade , preparing them to be responsible, patriotic, and capable citizens.

Concluding his address, General Chauhan reminded cadets that their actions today shape the India of tomorrow , inspiring them to lead with courage, optimism, and a commitment to national service.
