Chery Group and UNICEF have renewed their global partnership to advance education for children worldwide, announcing a new three-year collaboration focused on improving access to quality learning for the most vulnerable.

Building on its initial US$6 million contribution for 2023–2025, Chery Group has pledged an additional US$6 million to support UNICEF’s education programs globally, with special emphasis on China, Mexico, South Africa, Türkiye, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The renewed commitment extends the partnership through 2028, underscoring both organizations’ dedication to tackling the global learning crisis.

UNICEF estimates that over 600 million children worldwide lack basic reading and math proficiency, while millions more remain out of school entirely. Since the partnership began in 2023, Chery’s support has helped UNICEF reach nearly 40 million children and adolescents with quality education, including 17 million in emergency settings.

Beyond funding, Chery Group actively engages with UNICEF’s programs through technology-driven solutions, volunteering initiatives, and innovative education projects. The company leverages its expertise in digital platforms to support e-learning programs, facilitates employee volunteering to mentor and tutor children, and collaborates on pilot projects that integrate creative teaching methods and sustainable learning tools.

“Chery Group has consistently placed corporate social responsibility at the core of its development,” said Yin Tongyue, Chairman of Chery Group. “By renewing this vital partnership and contributing through technology and innovation, we aim to mobilize global resources and promote social progress to build a more inclusive future.”

Dr. Myo-Zin Nyunt, UNICEF Deputy Regional Director for East Asia and the Pacific, praised Chery’s renewed pledge, calling it “a powerful example of innovation and global responsibility that helps create brighter futures for children everywhere.”

The next phase of the partnership will focus on inclusive and safe learning environments, particularly for children with disabilities, those displaced by conflict, and those in marginalized communities. By aligning business growth with social progress, Chery Group reaffirms its long-term vision of “building a better future for the next generation,” using education as a cornerstone for sustainable and equitable global development.
