Chanmari FC Script Stunning IFL Stoppage Time Comeback to Hold Rajasthan United 2-2

Chanmari FC produced a sensational late comeback to salvage a dramatic 2-2 draw against Rajasthan United FC in their final Indian Football League Championship Phase fixture on Tuesday.

Trailing by two goals deep into stoppage time, Chanmari stunned Rajasthan with two late strikes to snatch a point in an extraordinary finish to the contest.

Rajasthan looked firmly in control for most of the evening after goals from Gerard Artigas and Thomyo L. Shimray put them in a commanding position. The breakthrough came in the 25th minute when a defensive lapse from Chanmari allowed Artigas to capitalise. Goalkeeper Zothanmawia was caught off his line following a misplaced back pass from defender Zothanpuia , and the Spanish forward calmly finished from distance.

Chanmari attempted to respond through quick counterattacks, with Jota proving dangerous on the wings, but Rajasthan doubled their lead just before half time. Midfielder Kiatalua Tadeu Emous (Norberto) won possession and threaded a precise through ball to Thomyo, who rounded the goalkeeper before scoring from a tight angle in the 41st minute.

The Mizoram based side came out with greater urgency after the break and pushed relentlessly in search of a goal. Rajasthan goalkeeper Dinesh made crucial saves to deny Jota and C. Lalmuanpuia , while Chanmari also had a goal ruled out for offside.

The comeback finally began in the 92nd minute when Lalruatsanga guided the ball into the net from close range to make it 2-1.

With momentum suddenly shifting, Chanmari pressed forward once more and found a dramatic equaliser in the 98th minute. Substitute Michael Lalbiaksanga fired in a long range effort that slipped through Dinesh’s hands and crossed the line, completing a remarkable turnaround and rescuing a memorable point for Chanmari FC.
