Bhatti Vikramarka urged voters in Kerala to elect candidates of the United Democratic Front (UDF) with a huge majority in the Assembly elections scheduled for April 9, stating that this is essential to restore good governance and secular values . He was the chief guest at an election campaign held in Pathanamthitta Assembly constituency on Saturday.

Criticising the incumbent Left Democratic Front (LDF) government, Bhatti said it had completely failed to implement its election promises . He expressed concern that a state once known for its high values has now seen a decline in human values , alleging that a government elected in the name of communism has drifted towards “goondaism.” He also claimed that rising unemployment has forced youth to migrate abroad.

Highlighting the Congress model, he said the party remains committed to good governance, law and order, and secular principles . He asserted that promises made during elections in Telangana are being implemented after coming to power and invited people to visit the state and verify. He noted that free bus travel for women has reduced financial burden on families by thousands of crores. He added that 1.06 crore families are receiving free fine rice, 53 lakh families are getting up to 200 units of free electricity , and schemes such as ₹500 gas cylinders and the Indiramma housing programme are being implemented. He further stated that farm loan waivers up to ₹2 lakh have been credited directly to farmers’ accounts, 70,000 government jobs have been filled in the past two years, and international-standard Young India Residential Schools are being developed with priority to education and healthcare.

For Kerala, Bhatti promised that a UDF government would bring transformational changes . He announced schemes including ₹1,000 monthly assistance for college-going women , interest-free loans for youth , and an increase in social pensions . He also proposed a special insurance scheme in the name of Oommen Chandy for the elderly and the establishment of a dedicated ministry for senior citizens , claiming it would be a first in the country.

He appealed to voters to support the “Hand” symbol for a prosperous future of Kerala . Several leaders and party representatives attended the event.
