Chandrababu’s Viksit Bharat & Swarna Andhra vision 2047
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday emphasized the need to build an ecosystem that can help India reach the top position globally. Speaking at the fourth district collectors’ conference, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for transforming the Indian economy from the 11th largest to the fourth largest in the world.
Naidu highlighted that India’s relationship with the United States has become more balanced over the years, moving from unequal power dynamics to a give-and-take partnership. He reflected on the past, noting that before 1991, there were hardly any reforms, and India was often criticized for its slow “Hindu growth rate.”
Looking ahead, Naidu shared his vision for India and Andhra Pradesh. He referred to India’s “Viksit Bharat - 2047” and Andhra Pradesh’s “Swarna Andhra - 2047” plans as guiding principles, saying they should inspire every collector in the state. With the NDA (National Democratic Alliance - coalition of political parties led by the BJP at the Centre) government in power both at the Centre and in Andhra Pradesh, Naidu described the situation as a “double engine sarkar,” which he believes is driving strong growth.
He highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s achievements, including a 12% growth rate in 2024-25, a GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product) of Rs 15.9 lakh crore, and a per capita income of Rs 2.98 lakh. Looking forward, the state aims for a 17% growth rate and a GSDP of Rs 18.6 lakh crore in 2025-26, with a per capita income target of Rs 3.47 lakh. The government is even tracking these goals down to the mandal level.
On administrative matters, Naidu explained his recent reshuffle of district collectors, saying it was based on careful review and that complacency would not be tolerated. He urged all collectors to actively engage with people, go to the field, and embrace technology in their work. The Chief Minister’s message was clear - performance, innovation, and proactive governance will be key to realize the state’s and nation’s ambitious growth plans.
