With a vision to make Andhra Pradesh clean and green under the ‘Swarnandhra – Swachhandhra’ initiative, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has launched a sustained campaign to transform the state into a model of cleanliness and environmental sustainability. For the past 16 months, the programme has been conducted across the state every third Saturday as a movement rather than a mere announcement, with the government focusing on on-ground improvements in sanitation, environmental protection, and waste management.

As part of this initiative, the Chief Minister will personally oversee the programme today at Narasannapeta in Srikakulam district .

The Chief Minister will arrive at the helipad in Tamrapalli village, Narasannapeta mandal, Srikakulam district at 10.40 am on Saturday . From there, he will travel by road to Narasannapeta town and participate in a public programme. He will address the ‘Swarnandhra – Swachhandhra’ meeting for nearly two hours, from 11.00 am to 12.45 pm .

Later, at around 1.20 pm , he will directly interact with the public at the local SWPC shed and listen to their grievances.

The public meeting in Narasannapeta is a key component of the visit. The Chief Minister will interact with local residents, farmers, and representatives of various groups. He will review long-pending issues in the constituency, irrigation project status, and local development works.

He is also expected to interact closely with sanitation workers and women from self-help groups to understand their experiences. Petitions from the public will be received, and officials may be instructed on the spot to resolve issues.

During the visit, the Chief Minister will inspect the SWPC shed and review scientific segregation of waste collected from rural and urban areas, and explore ways to generate revenue from waste management systems.

He will emphasise that ‘Swachhandhra’ is not a one-day programme , but a lifestyle change, and will highlight steps such as tree plantation and moving towards a plastic-free society as part of environmental protection efforts.

After the official programmes, from around 2.10 pm , the Chief Minister will hold a separate meeting with local Telugu Desam Party cadre at Tamrapalli village for about one and a half hours. The discussion will focus on strengthening the party, taking government welfare schemes to the people, and reviewing local political developments.

He will motivate party workers and prepare them for upcoming challenges, while also reviewing internal party matters with key district leaders to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level.

The Chief Minister will conclude all engagements and depart from Tamrapalli by helicopter at around 3.55 pm .

Through this visit to Srikakulam district, the Chief Minister aims to enhance administrative responsiveness and energise party cadre. The district administration has made extensive security arrangements, and the Narasannapeta region has been given a complete facelift for the event. The visit is expected to mark another important milestone in achieving the ‘Swarnandhra’ vision .
