Chandrababu Naidu Sets March 26 Deadline for Crop Loss Report

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials to move towards a permanent solution to overcome the ongoing LPG supply constraints in the State. He chaired a high-level review at the Camp Office on RTGS, gas supply, and crop losses due to unseasonal rains .

During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed officials to take war-footing measures to reduce dependence on LPG cylinders by promoting the use of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and electric appliances .

10,000 New Connections per District

Expressing dissatisfaction over the current pace of PNG expansion, the Chief Minister noted that although 2.34 lakh connections are available, only 60,000 consumers are using them. He directed officials to ensure 100% utilisation and set a target of providing at least 10,000 new connections in each district .

He also instructed officials to write to the Union Minister for the revival of the Srikakulam–Kakinada pipeline , and to issue immediate orders for the Andhra Pradesh City Gas Distribution Network . He further directed that a ‘Natural Gas Policy’ be prepared by the next Cabinet meeting .

Crop Loss Report by March 26

Reviewing the impact of unseasonal rains over the past five days , the Chief Minister directed officials to complete field-level assessments and submit a comprehensive crop loss report by March 26 to reassure farmers.

Noting that agriculture GSDP has grown by 40% , he stressed the need to focus on crop diversification and modern farming practices . He also advised studying the use of drones in neighbouring states to reduce cultivation costs and improve yields.

Transparent Governance Through Technology

The Chief Minister said that technology can bring transformative changes in public service delivery. Citing Tirumala , he noted that the use of AI in queue management has reduced waiting time and enabled 20% more devotees to have darshan.

He added that state-of-the-art food testing laboratories have been set up to ensure quality of prasadam without compromise. He directed all departments to focus on AI integration , and to utilise IoT, sensors, and CCTV data for real-time decision-making at the field level .

Ministers Kolusu Parthasarathi , Atchannaidu , and Nadendla Manohar (via video conference), along with senior officials from various departments, attended the meeting.
