Chandrababu is not a visionary, says former MLA Anant Venkatramireddy

Anantapur YSRCP district president and former MLA Anant Venkatramireddy said that a leader is called visionary only if their ideas benefit the people. However, Chandrababu, who claims to be a visionary, is harming the public by privatizing government assets. He made these remarks while participating in YSRCP’s signature collection campaign against the privatization of medical colleges in Anantapur city.

He pointed out that under YSRCP governance, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy spent ₹8,000 crore to complete the construction of seven medical colleges, five of which have already started admissions and made accessible to the public. However, due to election code restrictions, two colleges could not be inaugurated despite the constructions being completed.

Anant Venkatramireddy criticized the coalition government for privatizing medical colleges, saying it would deny healthcare to the poor. He alleged that the income generated from privatization would be directed to Chandrababu’s relatives and party members. He further explained that constructing colleges under the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model means handing them over to private entities, thereby evading government responsibility, which would ultimately deprive BC, SC, ST, and minority communities of medical care.

In protest against Chandrababu’s actions, YSRCP launched the signature collection campaign. The collected signatures will be submitted to the Governor under the leadership of Y.S. Jagan. Anant Venkatramireddy emphasized that YSRCP is taking responsibility to block Chandrababu’s conspiracies. He stated that the signature campaign received an overwhelming response, with citizens and community organizations voluntarily coming forward to sign.

CPI state executive member Jagadish also signed in protest against Chandrababu’s approach, appealing to stop the privatization of medical colleges. He warned that if it continues, a statewide movement would be initiated.
