CEO of Sigachi Industries arrested in connection with Sangareddy blast

A major development has emerged in the aftermath of the tragic blast at Sigachi Industries’ pharmaceutical plant in Sangareddy district, Telangana, which claimed 54 lives in June this year.

Amit Raj Sinha, the Managing Director and CEO of Sigachi Industries, was taken into police custody on Saturday in connection with the incident. Senior officials confirmed his arrest on Sunday.

According to a senior police officer, Sinha has been named as the second accused in the case. So far, six people have been booked for the accident, all of whom are employees of the pharmaceutical company.

The blast occurred on June 30, followed by a massive fire, resulting in the death of 54 workers. The tragedy shocked the entire state, prompting a thorough investigation into safety violations at the plant.

Authorities continue to examine whether negligence and violations of safety regulations contributed to the disaster.
