India scripted history by winning their third T20 World Cup title , achieving their first back-to-back triumph in the format. At the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, the team posted a daunting 255/5 , powered by a blistering 89 off 46 balls by Sanju Samson . In response, New Zealand’s batting faltered, with Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel dismantling the Kiwi lineup for 159 all out , handing India a commanding 96-run victory . As they say, India also broke several historical records , including their first T20 World Cup win on home soil , making the triumph even more special.

The celebrations did not end on the field. Hours after lifting the trophy, captain Yadav , coach Gautam Gambhir , and ICC Chairman Jay Shah visited a nearby Hanuman temple to offer prayers, honoring a pre-final vow made to the temple priest. The priest had promised blessings if the team returned victorious, and the players’ gesture fulfilled that promise. Fans shared videos capturing the emotional moment, showing marigold garlands, chants, and tears of joy as the team bowed in gratitude.

This historic win cements India’s dominance in T20 cricket and underscores the deep connection between faith, tradition, and sport in the country. From thrilling shots on the pitch to heartfelt prayers at the temple, the team’s journey became a story of skill, dedication, and devotion , celebrated by millions across the nation.
