CEC Gyanesh Kumar visits Srisailam temple, tours Hyderabad heritage sites

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Saturday offered prayers at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam before returning to Hyderabad later in the day, where he visited key heritage landmarks as part of his ongoing three-day visit to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Accompanied by his family , Kumar participated in early morning rituals at the hill shrine in Nandyal district, including harati at 4.30 am, followed by abhishekam, kumkuma archana and vedasirvachanam. He had arrived at the temple on Friday evening and took part in abhishekam and other ceremonies before staying overnight at the Bhramaramba guest house.

After completing the temple visit, the CEC departed for Hyderabad around 11 am, officials said. Later on Saturday, he toured prominent cultural and historical sites in the city, including the historic Golconda Fort and the Buddha Statue at Hussain Sagar , where he was briefed on their significance.

Kumar’s three-day programme began on Friday with his arrival at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, where he was received by senior electoral and state officials. During his stay, he is also scheduled to visit other iconic landmarks such as Charminar and the Salar Jung Museum.

On Sunday, December 21 , the Chief Election Commissioner is slated to interact with Booth Level Officers from across Telangana at Ravindra Bharathi auditorium in Hyderabad to review electoral preparedness and engage with grassroots election officials.
