CDS Anil Chauhan to visit Air Force Academy tomorrow

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan will visit the Air Force Academy in Dundigal on December 13 to review the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) of the 216th course. The ceremony marks the successful completion of pre-commissioning training for flight cadets of the Indian Air Force across various branches.

During the event, General Chauhan will confer the prestigious President’s Commission on the graduating cadets. Flight cadets of the Indian Air Force, along with officers from the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and trainees from Vietnam, will receive their Wings and Brevet badges on completing their training.

The cadet securing the highest merit in the Flying Branch will be awarded the President’s Plaque and the Nawanagar Sword of Honour. This top-ranking cadet will also serve as the Parade Commander. CDS Chauhan will also present the President’s Plaque to the cadets who top the Navigation and Ground Duty branches.

The ceremony will feature performances by the Akash Ganga skydiving team and the Air Warrior Drill Team, along with flypasts by Pilatus PC-7, Hawk, Kiran, and Chetak aircraft. Displays by the Sarang helicopter team and the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team will add to the highlights with their aerial manoeuvres.
