CBSE ignites young minds with youth ideathon 2025

India’s largest entrepreneurship festival for school students, the School Youth Ideathon (SYI), has entered its fifth year, empowering young innovators to envision and build a self-reliant India. The 2025 edition was launched at CBSE Headquarters, jointly organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Management & Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills Council (MEPSC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the ThinkStartup Foundation.

Open to students from Classes 4 to 12 in India and abroad, this year’s Ideathon, powered by Tanla Platforms, is themed “Nayi Soch Naya Bharat”, challenging students to ideate solutions that are bold, innovative, and socially impactful.

Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director (Skill Education), CBSE, said, “Youth Ideathon fosters entrepreneurial thinking rooted in real-world challenges, going beyond conventional science projects.” This edition introduces the CBSE Studio Pitch, where select teams will present live to angel investors, and an Entrepreneurial Quotient (EQ) Test to evaluate students’ innovation potential early, providing insights to strengthen entrepreneurial education.

Submissions are open until 20th November 2025 at www.YouthIdeathon.in , culminating in a Grand Finale at IIT Delhi on 19th–20th December 2025, featuring the top 125 teams. The Top 500 Teams will also receive structured mentoring from IIT alumni through PanIIT Alumni India, preparing students to translate ideas into scalable ventures.

Highlighting the festival’s broader impact, Shivani Singh Kapoor, Founder of ThinkStartup Foundation, said, “Youth Ideathon is nation-building through innovation.” Supported by SheAtWork, the initiative also empowers women educators and entrepreneurs. Over the years, SYI has nurtured transformative projects such as Pranvaayu, Safe Spark, SportyCoach, and Niri, demonstrating how classrooms across India are incubating solutions that can change lives.

With registrations open for students and teachers, SYI 2025 promises mentorship, visibility, and the tools to turn young ideas into India’s next big innovations.
