

CBSE Class 12 Results Out: Over 94,000 Score Above 90 Pc Despite Fall In Pass Rate
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday declared the results of the Class 12 board examinations, with an overall pass percentage of 85.20 per cent , marking a decline of 3.19 percentage points from last year’s 88.39 per cent.
More than 15 lakh students cleared the examinations out of nearly 17.7 lakh candidates who appeared this year, according to CBSE officials.
CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said over 94,000 students scored above 90 per cent marks , while more than 17,000 candidates secured above 95 per cent .
At the same time, over 1.63 lakh students were placed in the compartment category, taking the compartment percentage to around 9.26 per cent, higher than last year.
Girls once again outperformed boys in the examinations. The pass percentage among girls stood at around 88.4 per cent , while boys recorded nearly 81.7 per cent, widening the gender gap to about 6.7 percentage points.
Among regions, Trivandrum emerged as the best-performing CBSE region with a pass percentage of 95.62 per cent, followed by Chennai and Bengaluru. Prayagraj recorded the lowest regional pass percentage at 72.43 per cent.
Continuing its policy aimed at discouraging unhealthy academic competition, the CBSE did not release an official toppers list this year as well.
The board said students dissatisfied with their scores would be allowed to apply for verification and re-evaluation of marks. Improvement and compartment examinations are expected to be conducted in June and July.
