Cars24 offers lifetime powertrain warranty on certified used vehicles

AutoTech platform Cars24 has announced the launch of what it calls India’s first Lifetime Warranty programme for used cars, aimed at reducing long-term ownership risks and high repair costs for buyers in the second-hand vehicle market.

Unlike traditional used-car warranties that are usually limited to one to three years, the new offering provides coverage for essential powertrain components engine, transmission and drivetrain for up to 12 years from the date of first registration or 1.5 lakh kilometres , whichever comes earlier.

The Lifetime Warranty is available only on Cars24 Certified vehicles , which undergo inspection and quality checks before being sold on the platform. The programme is designed for customers who intend to keep their vehicles for extended periods and want protection against major mechanical failures that typically occur after years of use.

Repairs under the scheme will be conducted on a cashless basis at Cars24-certified workshops nationwide. Customers can file claims through a fully digital process , which also includes vehicle pick-up and drop-off services to simplify the repair experience.

To maintain coverage, vehicle owners must adhere to mandatory periodic servicing at Cars24-certified service centres in line with prescribed service intervals. Non-compliance may result in the loss of warranty benefits.

The Lifetime Warranty can be selected at the time of purchase and is now available pan-India . With this launch, Cars24 becomes the first platform in the Indian used car market to introduce a lifetime warranty focused on long-term mechanical protection.
