India has introduced a new Aadhaar mobile application designed to give residents greater control over their personal data while making identity verification faster and more secure. Developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) , app name is mAadhaarPlus and this app availability in Google Play Store for Android devices and Apple App Store for iPhones the app allows users to share only the necessary information instead of providing a full photocopy of their Aadhaar card, addressing long-standing privacy concerns.

The app enables selective data sharing , letting users disclose limited details such as name or masked Aadhaar number depending on the requirement. Officials say this approach reduces the risk of misuse and strengthens data protection while maintaining the convenience of Aadhaar-based verification.

A major highlight is the ability to verify identity through a secure QR code and digital authentication , eliminating the need to hand over physical copies at hotels, airports, or other service points. The digital process is expected to curb document forgery and simplify customer onboarding across sectors.

The application also supports face authentication and offline verification , allowing users to confirm their identity even without internet connectivity in certain situations. This feature is particularly useful in remote areas and helps expand the reach of digital services.
