Cadre Are the Party’s Strength… No Place in TDP for Leaders Who Ignore Them: AP CM
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu asserted that party cadre are the true strength behind the TDP’s existence and success , warning that leaders who fail to value them have no future in the party .
He was speaking at the 44th foundation day celebrations of the TDP held at the party’s central office in Mangalagiri on Sunday. Naidu first unfurled the party flag on the premises and later paid floral tributes to the statue of the party’s founder, N. T. Rama Rao.
Addressing the gathering, he stated that the party would always support disciplined and committed cadre , and made it clear that positions would be given only to those who work hard .
Built on Sacrifice
Naidu said the TDP’s journey was not merely about political power , but a long history of sacrifices and struggles . Over the past four decades, many workers had laid down their lives for the party, while others suffered severe hardships and losses, he noted.
He recalled that despite attempts to suppress the party during the tenure of leaders like Indira Gandhi, the TDP rose like a phoenix with the support of its cadre .
Driver of Reforms and Development
Highlighting the party’s contributions, Naidu said the TDP laid the foundation for the state’s all-round development . From the ₹2-per-kg rice scheme to ensuring property rights for women and strengthening them through DWCRA groups , the party had introduced several transformative measures.
He added that reforms in the power sector and the promotion of IT development placed Andhra Pradesh among leading states, while also claiming that the party set a national example in empowering Backward Classes politically .
Clear Focus on Polavaram and Amaravati
Naidu reiterated that completing the Polavaram Project at the earliest remains a top priority. He firmly stated that there would be no compromise on developing Amaravati as the sole capital , rejecting the idea of multiple capitals.
He assured that the government aims to complete Amaravati’s construction by 2028 and develop it into a world-class city .
Target of 2 Million Jobs
The Chief Minister said the current coalition government is advancing welfare and development in equal measure . Schemes such as ‘Thalliki Vandanam’, ‘Stree Shakti’, and ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ are benefiting people, he noted.
He announced a target of creating 2 million jobs , adding that 6.28 lakh employment opportunities have already been generated.
Call to Counter Misinformation
Naidu urged party leaders and workers to remain accessible to the public and effectively counter the opposition’s “misinformation.” He called upon them to strengthen the party at the grassroots level and work like soldiers to secure a historic victory in the المقبلة elections .
He also assured that the party remains committed to the welfare of its cadre , including taking responsibility for the education of their children .
The event was attended by several senior leaders, including state party president Palla Srinivasa Rao , minister Nara Lokesh, and Union Minister Pemmassani Chandrasekhar, among others.
