Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan made key remarks in the Assembly on the ₹3.32 lakh crore budget presented by Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav. He said the budget was not merely a set of numbers on paper but a document shaped by the aspirations and struggles of the state’s five crore people. Despite the state facing financial challenges , the government prepared the budget by balancing welfare and development without stepping back, he explained.

Pawan Kalyan said the government had allocated ₹33,000 crore for pensions to provide security to the common people. Supporting vulnerable sections such as the elderly, differently abled, and widows remains the government’s primary responsibility, he said. He added that development is equally important and highlighted that the coalition government had constructed about 17,500 km of roads in two years, nearly double the road works carried out during the previous government’s five-year term.

He further remarked that the power crisis affecting the state had ended. Due to flawed agreements made by the previous government, power utilities had suffered massive losses, he said, adding that the coalition government reduced electricity charges through the True-Down policy to ensure the burden did not fall on the public.

The Deputy Chief Minister also said that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, works are progressing on a war footing to provide safe drinking water to 48,000 rural habitations .

He assured that the government would expedite the completion of the Amaravati capital and the Polavaram Project, which he described as crucial for the state’s development. Pawan Kalyan stressed that politics should not create divisions among communities and called for collective efforts to build the state. He also urged the opposition, which has 11 MLAs, to avoid unnecessary criticism and expressed confidence that the coalition government would work for the people for the next 15 years .
