
BSF Constable Durgeshwar Singh wins silver at International Wushu Championship
India’s Durgeshwar Singh , a constable with the Border Security Force (BSF) , secured a silver medal at the 6th Acropolis International Wushu Championship held in Athens, Greece.
Competing in the 90 kg category , Singh showcased exceptional skill, strength, and determination , finishing second against a strong field of international participants.
The championship, held from March 13 to 15 , witnessed participation from over 1,100 athletes representing 19 countries , making it a highly competitive global event.
Singh’s achievement adds to India’s growing presence in wushu , a traditional Chinese martial art that has been gaining popularity in the country. His performance reflects both individual excellence and the increasing support for combat sports within the armed forces.
The BSF constable’s accomplishment is expected to inspire aspiring athletes, particularly those serving in uniformed forces, to pursue excellence in sports alongside their duties.
