Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has expressed confidence that the party will return to power in Telangana in the next Assembly elections and that K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) will become Chief Minister again. He alleged that growing public anger against the Congress government was driving several sections of society towards the BRS.

Addressing a meeting of BRS workers from Amberpet at Telangana Bhavan, KTR accused the Congress of misleading voters to secure power. He said the government had failed to address pressing issues, including power shortages, drinking water scarcity and the agricultural crisis. Recalling the previous Assembly elections, he pointed out that the Congress had not won a single seat in Hyderabad.

KTR alleged that the government had ignored warnings about the possible impact of El Niño issued nearly 10 months in advance. While other states had taken precautions to conserve water in reservoirs, Telangana had failed to act, he claimed. He further accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of not operating the Kaleshwaram project's pumps to prevent KCR from gaining political credit. He also alleged that the Congress had spread misinformation about the Medigadda barrage and made Rahul Gandhi repeat false claims.

Targeting the Congress and BJP, KTR alleged that both parties were focusing on criticising KCR and himself rather than protecting Telangana's interests. He described the state administration as a regime of misrule and exploitation. At the national level, he said neither the Congress nor the BJP offered a convincing alternative, predicting a greater role for non-Congress and non-BJP parties and for KCR in national politics. He added that young people could not be intimidated like political leaders.

KTR also challenged the government to conduct MPTC, ZPTC and municipal corporation elections, claiming the BRS would repeat its strong performance in the 2017 municipal polls.

Urging party workers to coordinate voter registration and polling efforts for the upcoming graduate constituency elections, he accused the Congress of relying on money power and failing students, unemployed people and youth through its Youth Declaration. He expressed confidence that young voters would hold the Congress accountable in the elections.
