BRS targets Congress with ‘Debt Card’ for failed promises

BRS working president K T Rama Rao, along with senior party leaders, on Saturday launched the ‘Congress debt (baaki) card’ campaign, accusing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s government of breaking all promises made to the people.

KTR told the media that the Congress had made false promises before the elections, which had now “become a weapon in the hands of the people.” He urged voters to teach Congress a lesson in the upcoming Panchayat and Jubilee Hills by-elections.

The BRS leader explained that the ‘debt card’ was a response to Congress’s ‘guarantee card,’ which he said misled people with hollow commitments. BRS workers and leaders will distribute these cards door-to-door to inform households about unfulfilled promises.

KTR warned that if people “mistakenly” voted for Congress again, even welfare programs like ‘Rythu Bandhu’ could be at risk. He claimed that under Congress’s rule, farmers, women, youth, the unemployed, the elderly, and all communities were facing worsening conditions.

He also accused the Congress government of indulging in vindictive politics, saying it was targeting BRS leaders with false cases instead of addressing public concerns.

Through this campaign, Rao said the BRS aims to make people aware of Congress’s failures and the impact of their broken promises. The party believes that by highlighting these issues, voters will make informed choices in the upcoming elections.

The BRS ‘debt card’ campaign is set to be a key part of the party’s strategy, with volunteers visiting homes across constituencies to explain the “backlog of unfulfilled promises” by the Congress government. KTR emphasized that this initiative is about holding the ruling party accountable and protecting welfare schemes that benefit the people.
