BRS Stages Kodad Protest Over CM Revanth Reddy's Remarks on KCR

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Sunday organized a major protest in Kodad, Suryapet district, condemning recent remarks made by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy against former Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao. The demonstration was led by former MLA Bollam Mallaiah Yadav and witnessed the participation of a large number of party workers and supporters.

Addressing the gathering, Mallaiah Yadav strongly criticized the Chief Minister, alleging that his statements were irresponsible and unbecoming of a constitutional office holder . He claimed that instead of maintaining the dignity expected of a Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy was using provocative language that could increase political tensions in the state. He further alleged that the government's approach resembled authoritarian governance and accused it of attempting to intimidate opposition voices.

The BRS leader particularly objected to comments allegedly made by the Chief Minister regarding opposition demands for the immediate commissioning of the Kannepalli Pump House , which the party says is crucial for supplying irrigation water to farmers. According to Mallaiah Yadav, the opposition had merely sought the launch of the project in the interest of the farming community, and any threats directed at political rivals were unacceptable in a democratic system.

He also demanded that authorities register criminal cases against the Chief Minister, alleging that his remarks had the potential to disturb public order and undermine democratic values. Public representatives, he said, should exercise restraint and avoid statements that could create divisions or encourage hostility.

Defending KCR, Mallaiah Yadav said the former Chief Minister had dedicated his life to the Telangana statehood movement and played a pivotal role in the formation of the state. He warned that disrespectful comments against KCR would not be tolerated by Telangana society.

Highlighting farmers' concerns, he said many cultivators were facing difficulties due to poor rainfall and inadequate irrigation water , with crop nurseries reportedly drying up in several areas. He urged the Congress government to set aside political differences, immediately operationalize the Kannepalli Pump House, and ensure timely irrigation support to protect agricultural livelihoods.
