BRS Seeks DGP Intervention Over Deteriorating Law and Order in Karimnagar
Karimnagar is witnessing a steady deterioration in law and order , prompting serious concern from the BRS party. Citing a series of recent incidents that have created a sense of fear among residents, the party has urged immediate intervention by authorities.
A high-level delegation of BRS public representatives met Telangana DGP C.V. Anand in Hyderabad and submitted a detailed memorandum outlining their grievances and demands.
The delegation included MLAs Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Padi Kaushik Reddy, KP Vivekananda, Kalvakuntla Sanjay, Mutha Gopal, and Kaleru Venkatesh, along with MLCs Deshapathi Srinivas and Dasoju Sravan.
They alleged that repeated jewellery shop thefts, attacks on civilians, and groups roaming the city in a threatening manner reflect a complete breakdown of security in Karimnagar. The leaders strongly condemned the attack on MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy , calling it a politically motivated act rather than an isolated incident. They demanded a thorough investigation , alleging possible instigation by certain political elements.
The delegation also highlighted attacks on MLA camp offices, destruction of vehicles, and intimidation of public representatives, stating that such developments undermine democratic values and public safety.
They further demanded the immediate suspension of the Karimnagar Police Commissioner, accusing him of failing to maintain public order. They also called for strict action against the Two Town CI for alleged negligence and demanded that those involved in the attack be booked without delay.
The leaders criticised the Congress government , alleging complete failure in protecting citizens’ lives and property. They urged the DGP to take swift and effective measures to restore confidence among the people and ensure safety in Karimnagar.
