BRS MLC urges Telangana govt to allocate 15% of Budget to Education
BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan Kumar on Thursday demanded that at least 15 per cent of the Telangana state budget be allocated to education , alleging that the education system in the state is in a dire state .
He was speaking at a round-table meeting jointly organised by the Child Rights Protection Forum and the MV Foundation in Hyderabad.
Addressing the gathering, Dasoju Sravan launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy . He alleged that even after two years in office , the Chief Minister had failed to introduce a single new policy for the education sector. Despite holding the education portfolio himself, the Chief Minister had been unable to focus on the department due to preoccupation with other ministries, he said.
Dasoju Sravan said the government must urgently address issues such as the poor condition of government schools , the shortage of teachers and student dropouts. He urged the state government to honour its 2023 election promise by allocating 15 per cent of the budget to education and safeguarding the education system.
