BRS gears up for Jubilee Hills by-poll

The BRS is going all out to retain the Jubilee Hills Assembly seat in the upcoming by-election. Party working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has intensified his campaign, holding division-level meetings and directly criticizing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress government.

Speaking at a workers’ meeting in Erragadda division on Friday, KTR said, “He studied under Modi, went to college under Chandrababu, and is now working under Rahul Gandhi. Maybe people should remember which school he really belongs to.”, mocking Revanth Reddy’s political journey.

Hyderabad stands with BRS

KTR expressed confidence that while the state may have voted for Congress, Hyderabad continues to stand firmly with BRS. “It is BRS that transformed Hyderabad into a global city. People trusted us and elected Maganti Gopinath three times despite all the negative propaganda,” he said. Seeking continuity, KTR urged voters to bless Gopinath’s wife, Sunitha, who is contesting this by-election.

Congress failed to deliver

Accusing Congress of betraying public trust, KTR said the ruling party promised to implement all its guarantees within 100 days but delivered nothing. “They promised gold instead of the Rs 1 lakh under Kalyana Lakshmi. They promised scooters to girl students. Where are they? All we see is leaders filling their pockets,” he alleged.

“Indiramma Rajyam is demolishing homes”

KTR accused the Congress government of terrorizing the poor by demolishing homes in the name of Indiramma Rajyam. “A woman in Kukatpally, Buchamma, even took her life fearing her house would be demolished. Did KCR ever demolish a poor man’s house in 10 years of rule? No. Instead, he gave pattas (legal papers proving their right to their land or house) and double-bedroom homes,” he reminded.

He also criticized the government for sparing influential leaders. “If CM’s brother builds a house on Durgam Cheruvu or Revanth Reddy owns a house in Redlakunta, no bulldozer will go there. But poor people’s homes are being razed,” he said.

Call to workers

KTR told BRS cadres that the responsibility to ensure victory for Sunitha lies on their shoulders. “If you’re afraid of cases, you can’t be a leader. We must fight for justice and truth,” he said, urging them to confront Congress leaders everywhere with the question: “When will you deliver on 420 promises?”

He also accused the Congress of ignoring Muslim representation in the government. “Not a single Muslim MLA, MLC, or minister has been given a position. Leaders like Ameer Ali and Azharuddin were denied tickets,” KTR alleged.
