Ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election, leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) approached the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sudarshan Reddy at BRK Bhavan on Monday, alleging that the Congress party was distributing cash in violation of the election code of conduct.

BRS officials claimed that Congress leaders were handing out money to voters and engaging in other rule violations. They urged the CEO to take strict action to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections. Along with their complaint, BRS leaders submitted detailed evidence to support their allegations, emphasizing the need for the authorities to uphold democratic values during the election process.

Harish Rao raises concerns over fake voter IDs

Former minister Harish Rao also alleged that Congress was distributing over a lakh of sarees and mixer grinders as part of its election campaign in Jubilee Hills. He said the BRS had submitted all relevant video and photo evidence to the Election Commission and called for action against officials allegedly misusing their power in favor of the ruling party. Harish Rao emphasized that, despite the ruling party’s attempts, voters in Jubilee Hills would make their choice independently.

He further accused Congress of creating and distributing fake voter ID cards in the constituency to cast fraudulent votes and manipulate election results. The BRS team requested the Election Commission to investigate the matter immediately and take strict action against those undermining the democratic process.
