BRS fight is between development and disorder: KTR

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) stated that the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election is not merely a contest between two parties or two individuals, but a battle between “ten years of development” and “two years of disorder.” He made these remarks while addressing the media before BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha filed her nomination papers on Wednesday.

KTR said that this by-election represents a choice between welfare promises and administrative failures. He claimed that over 1.67 crore women across Telangana are looking forward to Sunitha’s victory, expecting the Congress government to fulfil its promise of providing ₹2,500 per month to eligible women only if pressured by public sentiment.

Highlighting other issues, KTR said that farmers and unemployed youth are closely watching this election, having felt deceived over unfulfilled promises such as the Rythu Bandhu scheme and two lakh government jobs. He criticised the Congress government for demolitions of houses, closure of Basthi Dawakhanas (neighbourhood clinics), and the disruption of free drinking water supply. He reminded that people still recall the 1 lakh houses built in Hyderabad during the BRS government under K. Chandrashekar Rao.

KTR further alleged that various social groups minorities, Dalits, and BCs are angry with the Congress government for failing to honour its BC Declaration, Dalit Bandhu, and Abhayahastam schemes. He claimed these sections are now rallying behind the BRS candidate.

Explaining the party’s decision to nominate Maganti Sunitha, KTR said that following the sudden demise of former MLA Maganti Gopinath, the party chose his wife in recognition of Gopinath’s services to the constituency and as a gesture of support to his family. He said BRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao has instructed all key leaders to work for her victory.

KTR expressed confidence that with support from all sections of society, Sunitha Gopinath will secure a decisive win in the Jubilee Hills by-election, marking the resurgence of the BRS in Telangana politics.
