British Airways Extends Double-Daily Bengaluru–London Flights Until October 2027

British Airways will continue operating two daily flights between Bengaluru and London Heathrow until October 2027, extending an additional service introduced in June this year, the airline announced on Wednesday.

The additional daily flight will operate from March 28 to October 30, 2027, alongside the existing daily service. Both flights will be operated using Boeing 787 aircraft, the airline said in a statement.

The second daily service was introduced on June 2, 2026, as a short-term adjustment for the summer season. According to the airline, the service continued through the winter schedule and will now operate into summer 2027.

The extension will add more than 78,000 seats between Bengaluru and London next summer, providing additional capacity on the route. The airline did not disclose route-specific passenger numbers, occupancy rates or revenue figures in its announcement.

British Airways currently operates flights to five Indian cities from London Heathrow. It offers up to three daily flights each to Delhi and Mumbai, up to two daily services to Bengaluru, and daily flights to Hyderabad and Chennai.

Together, these services account for 70 flights a week connecting India with London Heathrow, the airline said.

The Bengaluru extension forms part of the airline’s existing India network, which connects passengers travelling between the two countries. Heathrow also serves as a hub for onward journeys to other international destinations.

The additional Bengaluru service was initially introduced to increase capacity during the summer 2026 season. Its extension through October 2027 means the airline will maintain the second daily flight throughout the next summer travel period.

The schedule will offer passengers two daily British Airways departures between Bengaluru and London Heathrow during the specified operating period. The airline’s announcement, however, did not provide a breakdown of expected demand or explain whether the extended service would continue beyond October 2027.
