Michael Brennan claimed his second victory of the season at the Baycurrent Classic in Japan, while Scotland’s Grant Forrest secured his maiden Masters invitation with a dramatic win at the Spanish Open, headlining a memorable weekend of golf across international tours.

Brennan, 24, carded a three-under 68 in the final round at Yokohama Country Club to finish at 16-under 268, edging Jacob Bridgeman and Keith Mitchell by one stroke. The American, who shared the 54-hole lead with Bridgeman and Zach Bauchou, recovered from a bogey on the 10th with consecutive birdies on the next two holes before closing with six successive pars.

One of those pars came on the 16th, where Brennan produced an impressive long bunker shot to within a foot of the hole. The victory marked his third PGA Tour title in the past calendar year, following his Bank of Utah Championship triumph in October 2025 and his Wyndham Championship win two months ago.

Defending champion Xander Schauffele finished tied for fourth after a double bogey on the final hole.

In Madrid, Grant Forrest held his nerve to win the Spanish Open by one stroke, finishing at 14-under 270 after a two-under 70. The 33-year-old Scotsman secured the title with a birdie on the reachable par-four 18th, earning his first appearance at the Masters Tournament at Augusta National.

Forrest edged France’s Victor Perez in a tense finish. Both players found rough beyond the green on the closing hole, but Perez missed his birdie attempt from 10 feet after chipping close, while Forrest left himself a putt of just over three feet and converted it for victory. The win also earned him a place at next year’s British Open.

Meanwhile, American Austin Hitt captured the Korn Ferry Tour Championship with a five-under 66, finishing two shots ahead of 19-year-old Blades Brown. The victory lifted Hitt from 22nd to sixth in the season points standings, securing his PGA Tour card for 2027. Davis Lamb also earned promotion after finishing eighth.

Elsewhere, Vaughn Taylor won the Constellation Furyk & Friends on the PGA Tour Champions, defeating Alex Cejka in a playoff for his first victory in more than a decade. Japan’s Miyu Yamashita set a course record with a nine-under 63 to win the Aramco Korea Championship on the Ladies European Tour.
