BPL medical acquires South Korea’s BMTech, launches AI Radiology platform

BPL(British Physical Laboratories) Medical Technologies on Friday announced the completion of its acquisition of South Korea-based Yozma BMTech , strengthening its global precision imaging strategy, while unveiling an AI-powered radiology platform to enhance speed and accuracy in medical imaging.

The announcements were made at the 78th Annual Conference of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) 2026, where the company showcased next-generation imaging and digital health solutions for radiology, diagnostics, and women’s health.

BPL launched BPL Cortex , an AI-powered platform designed to support clinicians in faster image interpretation, streamline workflows, and improve reporting efficiency.

The platform integrates with X-ray and CT scanners and uses AI algorithms to analyze images in real time, helping detect abnormalities, prioritize critical cases, and generate structured reports. By automating repetitive tasks and highlighting potential findings, it aims to reduce turnaround times and improve diagnostic confidence.

BPL also announced a partnership with 5C Network, India’s AI-native radiology platform, to jointly develop an OEM-embedded AI solution, a first in India.

Following the BMTech acquisition, BPL highlighted advancements in precision imaging and domestic innovation. Special sessions focused on women’s health imaging, including bone densitometry and mammography, emphasizing early detection and preventive care.

A highlight was RIA, a robotic assistant hosting expert-led sessions on imaging, AI in radiology, and women’s health, engaging delegates across the conference.

Founded in 2013, BPL Medical Technologies, Bangalore, is a leading Indian medical equipment manufacturer, building on the legacy of BPL (British Physical Laboratories), which pioneered India’s first ECG machine in 1967.
