Bottuguda school named after Komati Reddy Prateek, ₹8 Cr project
The Government of Telangana has officially renamed the Bottuguda Government School as the “Komati Reddy Prateek Government School”, issuing orders under G.O. No. 2. Nalgonda MLA Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for the decision.
The original school building had fallen into a dilapidated state. Under the supervision of the Komati Reddy Prateek Foundation, a new school building has been constructed at a cost of approximately ₹8 crore. The facility has been designed with modern infrastructure aimed at providing corporate-level education to students from economically disadvantaged families.
The school’s inauguration is expected to be conducted soon by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy highlighted that this project marks the beginning of a broader educational initiative. Over the next three years, the plan is to transform all Anganwadis, government schools, and colleges in Nalgonda constituency into model educational institutions.
In addition, the MLA noted that the construction of the Komati Reddy Prateek Junior College in Nalgonda has already been completed at a cost of ₹10 crore. Similar efforts are ongoing to modernise junior colleges in Tipparti and Kanagal.
Beyond education, development in the healthcare sector is also a priority. Recently, a laparoscopy unit was inaugurated at the Nalgonda Government Hospital, providing advanced medical facilities to the public.
About Komati Reddy Prateek:
Komati Reddy Prateek was the only son of Telangana Minister Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy and the MLA of Nalgonda. He tragically passed away at the age of 19 on December 20, 2011, in a road accident near Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road while studying his first year of B.Tech at Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology.
Komati Reddy Prateek foundation: The Komati Reddy Prateek Foundation was established by Minister Venkat Reddy in memory of his late son. The foundation focuses on providing quality education to underprivileged students. It has already completed the Komati Reddy Prateek Memorial Government Junior College building at a cost of ₹10 crore and recently upgraded the Bottuguda school facility for ₹8 crore.
The foundation also engages in healthcare initiatives, such as organizing eye and medical camps and establishing the laparoscopy unit at Nalgonda Government Hospital. Additional activities include financial assistance to the needy, road safety awareness campaigns, job fairs for unemployed youth, and support to farmers through technical assistance, supply of fertilizers, and fair pricing of crops via the Farmer Produce Organization.
This renaming and associated infrastructure development underline the continued commitment of the Komati Reddy family to education, healthcare, and community welfare in Nalgonda district.
