Bomb threats target three flights arriving at Hyderabad airport
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport was placed on high alert after bomb threats were reported for three flights arriving in the city. Late-night emails on Sunday reportedly warned of explosives on flights coming from different cities. Airport officials confirmed that two of the flights were international.
The affected flights included British Airways flight BA 277 from London Heathrow, Lufthansa flight LH 752 from Frankfurt, and IndiGo flight 6E 7178 from Kannur. Authorities immediately initiated security measures for all three flights.
Officials confirmed that all flights landed safely at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, with the international flights arriving in the early hours of Monday. As soon as the threats were received, standard safety protocols were put in place, including moving the aircraft to a designated area on the runway, conducting thorough checks of passengers, crew, and luggage, keeping fire-fighting vehicles on standby, and deploying bomb squads and sniffer dogs.
This incident follows a series of bomb threats at Hyderabad airport over the past week. Earlier threats targeted flights from Dubai, Madinah, and Sharjah, prompting heightened security and, in one instance, diverting a flight from Madinah to Ahmedabad.
Airport authorities continue to maintain strict vigilance in response to these recurring threats to ensure passenger safety.
