
Bomb Threat Email to Machilipatnam District Court Sparks Panic
A bomb threat sent via email to the District Court in Machilipatnam , the headquarters of Krishna district, triggered panic on Monday morning. The message, received by the District Judge from an unidentified individual, put court authorities and the police on high alert. The email claimed that an explosive device had been planted on the court premises, leading to tense moments.
Acting swiftly, the district police launched a full-scale response. Teams from the bomb disposal squad and dog squad rushed to the spot and carried out extensive searches across the premises. As a precautionary measure, judges, lawyers, court staff, and litigants were immediately evacuated. Police thoroughly checked the main building, court halls, record rooms, and surrounding areas .
After several hours of intensive examination, no explosives or suspicious objects were found, bringing relief to officials and the public. Police have prima facie identified the threat as a hoax .
Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that similar email threats targeting courts have been reported recently in Andhra Pradesh and other states. Taking the incident seriously, police have intensified the investigation through the cyber crime wing to trace the sender. Authorities warned of strict action against those spreading false information and causing panic, and urged the public to remain calm and report any suspicious activity immediately.
