Bomb Threat At Rajasthan Assembly Triggers Major Security Sweep, Nothing Found
A bomb threat at the Rajasthan Assembly on Friday triggered a major security response , with police and specialised teams conducting an extensive search of the premises. Authorities later confirmed that no suspicious object was found.
According to officials, the threat was received via an email sent to the Assembly’s official ID, warning of a suicide attack scheduled for 1 pm. The message claimed that two individuals wearing explosive belts would carry out the blast, prompting immediate action from security agencies.
Jyoti Nagar Station House Officer Santara Meena said police personnel, along with bomb disposal and dog squads , were swiftly deployed to the site. “A thorough search of the Assembly premises was carried out, but nothing suspicious was detected. Security has, however, been intensified as a precautionary measure ,” the officer said.
Civil defence volunteers were also mobilised to assist in the search operation, which lasted several hours and covered the entire Assembly complex.
This marks the second such threat in less than two weeks. Officials noted that a similar email warning was received on April 13 , which also turned out to be a hoax after a detailed search.
Police further revealed that Jaipur has witnessed a spate of threat emails in recent weeks targeting key government and public institutions. These include courts , the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the Chief Minister’s Office, the passport office, post offices, as well as several private schools and hospitals.
Authorities have launched an investigation to trace the origin of the email and identify those responsible. Meanwhile, security has been tightened across sensitive locations in the city to prevent any potential threat.
Officials have urged the public to remain calm while assuring that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure safety.
