Bomb Making Note Found at Ayodhya Medical College, Student Detained for Questioning
A first year paramedical student was detained after a handwritten note with alleged bomb making instructions was found in the X-ray department of Rajarshi Dashrath Autonomous State Medical College in Ayodhya, police said.
The note was discovered after the night shift in the X-ray laboratory. Staff members handed it to the college administration, which informed the police as part of the standard procedure.
The student, identified as Sarfaraz Khan, is from Balrampur district and is studying for a laboratory technician course. During questioning, he told police that he had copied the information from a movie he was watching on his laptop while on duty. Investigators are verifying his claim.
Officials from the Special Operations Group (SOG), Special Task Force (STF), Special Branch, and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) questioned the student. Police have also seized his laptop and mobile phone for forensic checks and are examining CCTV footage from the college to understand what happened.
Another student who was on duty with him has also been questioned, while a third student who left for his hometown after the shift is being contacted.
Police said no explosives or bomb making materials have been recovered from the student or the campus. So far, no FIR has been registered and no arrest has been made. Officials said the inquiry is still at an early stage, and further action will depend on the findings of the investigation.
