Chennai began with determination, led by Jerome’s sharp serves and powerful spikes that unsettled Ahmedabad’s defence. Setter Muthusamy Appavu applied clever tactics, targeting Nandhagopal to slow the Defenders’ counterattacks. Ahmedabad, however, fought back through Battur Batsuuri’s accurate cross-court smashes, scoring crucial super points to stay in contention. Akhin excelled in defence, while Angamuthu added pace and precision to Ahmedabad’s attack, swinging momentum in their favor during the middle sets.
