BJP Shares AI Videos Mocking Oppn Leaders As ‘Naraz Fufas’ During BRICS Summit

The BJP has used AI-generated videos to take a fresh political swipe at Opposition leaders during the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, portraying them as “naraz fufas”, or disgruntled relatives, watching events from outside the venue.

The videos, shared by the BJP on X, feature AI-generated depictions of Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Akhilesh Yadav and Arvind Kejriwal standing outside Bharat Mandapam, where the 18th BRICS Summit was being held on September 12-13. The leaders are shown trying to look inside and get a glimpse of the proceedings.

The BJP accompanied the videos with a message contrasting the international event with what it portrayed as Opposition frustration. The post said that India’s influence was growing inside the summit while “naraz fufas” outside were becoming increasingly upset.

The videos are clearly framed as political satire rather than an actual depiction of the leaders at the venue. Their release comes amid a wider BJP-Congress confrontation over the significance of the BRICS grouping and India’s hosting of the summit.

The BJP has repeatedly attacked Congress leaders for questioning what India gains from international groupings such as BRICS. BJP president Nitin Nabin had earlier used the “naraz fufas” phrase while accusing the Opposition of being uncomfortable with India’s growing global profile.

The controversy followed remarks by senior Congress leader P Chidambaram, who questioned whether recent BRICS summits had produced tangible benefits for India. Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, however, took a different position, saying that hosting BRICS carried significant diplomatic value and strengthened India’s engagement with the Global South.

With the BRICS Summit bringing major international attention to New Delhi, the BJP’s latest social-media posts attempt to turn that global spotlight into a domestic political message, presenting the summit as evidence of India’s growing influence while portraying its critics as unhappy spectators.
