BJP Ramchander Rao Slams Congress, Raises Questions Over Telangana Power Supply
Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao has hit back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his allegations of ‘vote chori’ against the BJP, accusing the Gandhi family of using Mahatma Gandhi’s surname to mislead the public. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were exploiting the name of the Father of the Nation for political purposes. Rao made these remarks while speaking to the media in Hyderabad after paying tribute to former President APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary.
Rejecting the Congress allegations, Rao said the issue was not about vote theft but what he described as the appropriation of Mahatma Gandhi’s name. He claimed that the Gandhi family members were not related to Mahatma Gandhi and urged people to remain alert against what he termed attempts to mislead them.
The Telangana BJP chief also referred to remarks attributed to American singer Mary Millben, who reportedly alleged that the “Cockroach Janata Party” was receiving financial support from donors in the United States. Rao urged the public to take note of her statements, stressing that the allegations had come from an American singer rather than the BJP.
He further alleged that certain forces were attempting to weaken India and remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi from power. Citing previous incidents, Rao referred to the protests at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which continued for around 30 days. He expressed confidence that the people would respond to any efforts aimed at undermining the country.
Paying tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam, Rao described the former President as the “Missile Man of India” and highlighted his contributions to national development. He said Kalam’s work in defence technology, space science and nuclear capabilities had strengthened India’s standing internationally.
Kalam, who played a significant role in advancing India’s scientific and strategic capabilities, continues to be remembered for his contributions to the country.
Questions State Government on Power Disruptions
Rao also criticised the Congress government in Telangana over interruptions in electricity supply, alleging that the problem was affecting agricultural operations as well as urban areas.
He questioned whether the state government had a concrete strategy to resolve the issue and ensure an uninterrupted power supply. Rao’s remarks added to the BJP’s criticism of the state government’s handling of public infrastructure and essential services.
