BJP MLC Anjireddy Urges Immediate Police Recruitment Notification in Telangana
BJP MLC Anjireddy on Friday met Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Shivadhar Reddy on behalf of unemployed youth awaiting police recruitment in the state.
He submitted a memorandum urging the immediate release of the official notification for the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors (SI) and Police Constables .
Anjireddy said candidates have been waiting for a long time for the recruitment process to begin and expressed concern that the prolonged delay in issuing the notification could render many aspirants ineligible due to age limits. In view of this situation, he also requested relaxation in the upper age limit .
Considering the delay, he further urged that the maximum age limit be increased. He also suggested reducing the qualifying distance for the long jump in the physical test from the existing 4 metres to 3.8 metres , stating that such a change would enable more candidates to qualify.
According to Anjireddy, DGP Shivadhar Reddy responded positively to the requests and assured that the issues would be discussed with the Chairman of the Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board . He said the DGP promised to take steps towards a decision favourable to the candidates. Youth awaiting police jobs have expressed hope over the assurance.
